Alexandria
Alexandria is a port city on the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. During the Hellenistic period, it was home to the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as the renowned Library of Alexandria. Today, the library has been revived in the form of the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a uniquely designed disc-shaped building. The city also features Greco-Roman landmarks, vintage cafes, and sandy beaches. The 15th-century Qaitbay Citadel on the waterfront has now been converted into a museum.
